So, you’ve locked yourself out. What now?
If you’ve locked yourself out of your safe room, the first thing you need to ask yourself is whether or not you are currently in a dangerous situation. If you’re at potential risk for harm and you’re unable to access your safe room, please contact 911 immediately and get to the most secure place you can find. In cases of natural disasters, follow the instructions provided by your local police and news stations.
If you are not in any risk for harm, you have a couple of other options. Your first option is to contact the safe room company to see if there is anything they can do to help. The company may have back up features that will open the safe even if it’s locked, or they may be able to send out a technician to open it for you. If you are still unable to open the safe after contacting the safe room company, your next step is to contact a locksmith. If you still have additional questions about accessing your safe room, feel free to contact Stronghold Safe Rooms.

If you’re unsatisfied with your current safe room, it may be time to upgrade to the Z4 Safe Room from Stronghold Safe Rooms. Stronghold offers the best-built, best-tested safe rooms in America. We’re dedicated to providing you and your family the best protection when they need it most.
How will our safe rooms protect your family from intruders? We designed our safe rooms to have two handles–one on the outside of the door and one of the inside of the door that operates independently. Once you are inside of our safe room, you can lock the handle on the outside of the door while still being able to escape from your safe room using the handle on the inside of the door. Additionally, our safe rooms do not block cell phone service, so if you have an intruder in your home, you should be able to contact emergency services from inside.
